Don’t these NIL “ contracts “ have it in writing to protect themselves against what this loser is trying to do to Vols.
I wish ( and of course not gonna happen ) another school doesn’t pays him a lot.
Tennessee should at least sue for contract non compliance…and all NIL agreements going forward do make sure this doesn’t happen again to any school
Definitely not a VOL fan but I’d be friggin pissed

I’m far from a fan of the Vols, but I’m proud of them standing up to this clown

This could have happened at any big time school, including ours. I’m thankful it’s happening to someone else and hopefully admins figure out better NIL + transfer portal boundaries to clean this all up.

As I understand it, until new guidelines are set in place, you cannot have an NIL agreement that specifies compensation based on where you play or how you perform. So there is little protection for schools right now.

Hopefully. But I bet a long list is f donors pull money out until there is some protection for their investments in place. Or at least I would.

This is it exactly. Name, Image, Likeness that's it. Can't be tied to play or performance. The athletes have all of the power currently.

I kinda can't wait to hear the mayhem on sports radio here (Nashville) on Monday. The homers were all about Nico for heisman.

I saw on X that Dan Lanning reached out to Heipel and informed him that Nico was shopping himself to other teams.

High integrity move by Lanning if true.

It already did. Bryce Underwood. Michigan may be in the same situation next year as Tennessee if BU decides he wants to seek his academics elsewhere, since that's so important to him.

Who that could afford him, has a spot open to even pay him what he's asking? Bama? A&M?

They aren’t contracts in the traditional sense of the word.

People wanted players to be able to get Kai’s a few bucks for working a summer camp or cutting a commercial for a local car dealer.

The portal is basically free agency without a contract

"It's the state of college football," Heupel said of the situation on a Vol Network broadcast. "At the end of the day, no one is ever bigger than the program. That includes me too."

That’s a funny jersey but imagine wearing a NOB jersey for an active college player lol

I'm not sure what's going on. Is it about their talented QB? Just wondering since nothing was linked. Hadn't been on TD last night or today. Saw a couple days ago something about their QB. Can someone just clue me in since there was no link.

Tenn is partially to blame for setting it up from beginning
But yeah this gonna be a big problem
Some will renegotiate before playoffs
