I don’t know. Some high schools are pretty strict when it comes to prom dress codes and enforce it at the door to even not let people in.

Some of the catholic schools in the lafayette area adopted these guidelines. I have a sophomore in one of these such schools and the girls look much nicer. Prom isn’t as bad as homecoming when it comes to dresses so small and short. Comparing public school dance pics to Catholic schools dance pics is night and day. It’s only doing the bigger girls favors. The short dresses looked awful on most of them. It makes it really difficult when trying to dress shop with a 16 year old, but overall I think the guidelines are good. If the girls at our school had a dress that was close or maybe had a slit then we were able to take pics and send to somebody for approval. Almost always got approval.

At my daughters high school it is. VERY strict. They will turn you away realllll fast.

They will tell you to bring your dress in before the dance to school and try it on in so the admin cam let you know if it is within the dress code. Thank god my daughter has grown to like the chic conservative dresses instead of the slits up to the vagina and tits hanging out.

This is a great thing and one of the many great traits of a Catholic school.

Doing their best to keep the girls classy. No need to dress like a tramp in high school.

our kid's school does this as well. Classical Christian. So conservative that they use the term decolletage for cleavage. No strapless or spaghetti strap even.

He's going to a prom with a rural public school friend tonight and it's no limits there. He'll see plenty, I'm sure.

My bad, with my dyslexia I thought this thread was about dressing for porn.

This post pretty much sums up the difference between men & women.

Men's dress rules- one short sentence
Women's dress rules- One entire paragraph

Umm. I'm pretty sure you should post pictures to help us decide. You can skip the young men, as nothing in those standards is left to the imagination.

Wish public schools enforced this also. I've seen some pics of girls dressed for prom who look like they're wearing skimpy lingerie. And no, pervs, I'm not including pics. If you have Facebook you've probably seen it.

As long as they ain't nudes, why not? You think a first-semester LSU co-ed freshman you enjoy casting your lurking eyes on in the Quad is that many months away from a senior at her prom?

You’ve been on this board since 2006.
You’re a creep if you’re looking at HS girls or 18 year old freshmen in the quad.

Well, fair enough. You got me there.

If I'm a creep for noticing how much they dress like attention whoring sluts on hot game days, then so be it.

ETA: guess I should change my handle to TigerCreepyman
