Spenser Rattler deserves a shot.

Dude was thrown to the wolves with that clown show of coaching, little to zero playmakers to help him and a raggedy O-line... yet he still showed flashes of being a stud.

Rattler's ceiling is probably Garner Minshew. You can win some games with him, he has moxy, but you are always looking to upgrade him. He is probably closer to a top end backup than an average starter.

He can have a shot but by no means has he shown anything that should keep the organization from looking at all options at QB

No one “deserves” a shot. He needs to prove he can earn it.
The beauty of a new coaching staff is they can look at Rattler’s college film and his NFL film. They are able to “look beyond the results” and make a decision if they think he’s earned enough to be considered part of the competition or if he’ll be another arm to keep the actual QBs from overextending themselves in the offseason

Carr, also was probably the only reason why we won any games last season. If we would’ve started Haener and Rattler all season, I really believe we would’ve gone 1-16 or 0-17.
I don’t hate Rattler, but he’s not an NFL backup quality QB, let alone a Starter.
Carr, on the other hand, is a mid end starter. If you put him on KC or Philly, he’d win 12 games a year. He really isn’t THAT bad. This team and front office is just complete garbage.

IMO this coaching staff will take a long look at Rattler this season but in reality, he was the other staffs guy. New coaching staffs usually hold no allegiance to these type of picks.
The one thing we do not know know is how they felt about Rattler entering last season draft. Obviously the Eagles were not in the market for a starting type QB but teams like the Eagles are always scouting and looking for the best young QB to develop as a backup and maybe strike gold.
IMO in listening to Moore talk, I don't get the sense that Rattler was much on their radar last season, even as a development type QB.
Sucks for Rattler but I'm ok with totally moving on from him and going their own direction. I do believe they will at least keep him on as a backup in the 2025 season and try to improve his stock and maybe trade him if the can in 2026, assuming they draft another QB this draft and/or next.
