So who on here was saying this whole tariff business was about China prior to today?

I see a lot of people now saying it was always about China. But who was saying it before? I’ll start paying more attention to their posts.

I’m not sure and I don’t care if I did or not.
All I know is that Trump is sick of seeing Made in China on everything.. he’s pissed off at China for releasing COVID (a bio weapon), he’s pissed off at China for flooding our country with Fentanyl and he’s pissed off that we are no longer the world leader in making things.

I’ve said from day one it’s about leversge. Idgaf what we get as long as we aren’t getting ripped off. Trump also has secured foreign manufacturing coming here so I don’t understand the got ya on that. He accomplished that well before the tariffs.

Don’t listen to me though. This had more to do with 8 years of what Trump has said.
I suggest listen to what Trump has to say sometimes and not the media.
In a diff post I said he isn’t happy with the EU, but that seemed more on the defense side, not trade.
And that too is from what he has said over the years.

Many people, including myself. But I give all the credit to Donald Trump, he has been saying it for 30+ years. Not sure why anyone is surprised by this

They are all coming to the table, For that, the tariffs were paused. We will get a better deal, but not 0 tariffs. China will end up giving us a beter dealm but not zero either.
