He was very dovish on China and said he feels like they can make a deal...if that happens we're truly back off to the races and the Dims are F'd in midterms and next pres election

So, do we want to break China or make a deal with them?

We def can't break them but we can get a much better position than we have historically

both.

I've been following this place and you for a while and I gotta say it shouldn't be that difficult to get this answer on your own. It seems to me you are really stretching your desire to not have Trump and the US succeed here.

which is kinda sad for you

This is all well and good, but China is not our biggest problem right now.

Are you a grown man and don’t understand that the goal posts always move in negotiations?

I mean, that’s quite literally the definition of negotiations. Negotiation 101.

The goalposts have never moved. That's a mental construct that y'all have created. The goalposts have always been getting the best possible solution for us. There can also be multiple avenues of approach to that solution and each avenue of approach can reach the same goal although by a different route. Don't hurt your neck too much trying to follow that, just know the destination hasn't changed only the possible route potentially.

Pivoting again!

Earlier, MAGA wanted to crush China.

Now, the cult is cool with getting back to friendly trade.

Which won't bring manufacturing back. Nor pharmaceutical production. Or rare metal mining.

Pivot again!!

As usual, this isn't true. Trump simply said that he was confident that China will want to make a deal.

You realize your life would be easier if you were not so biased, right? It wouldn't be hard at all to see what was happening, if you didn't have your TDS goggles on.

I don't think any deal will prevent those things from happening. Especially pharma.

Or, now hear me out. Maybe, we just want is what's best for America, and understand these are negotiations, and all things can be true at once.

1) We want trade to be fair and equal.
2) If countries do not abide, then we retaliate with tariffs
3) Tariffs will increase our GDP.
4) If countries agree to our terms, retaliatory tariffs are removed or lessoned.
5) Hostile bad actors may receive tariffs regardless what happens (China).
6) China may cease to be so hostile because they can't afford this tariff game.
7) Tariffs can be paused with any country if they come to table. If their proposal is garbage, then tariffs back on. If their proposal is good, their tariffs may reduce.

It's called a negotiation. However, if you suffer from TDS, then of course you will jump to criticize any ebb and flow of a negotiation. Ultimately, you'll be wrong.
