Especially some small ones that are profitable. If they aren't seeking help from venture capital now they will have to depending on the sector........so the rich get richer?

The restaurant industry may have a tough time with wines and other spirits that are being imported.
Does a $12 glass of wine now become $17-$20?

Some will lose, some will win. Is there a problem with the Rich getting richer?

The rich are always getting richer brother
Back in the day a group of poor farmers got tired of getting screwed by the rich folks and they got together and made this place called America
Unfortunately the rich folks invented Netflix so it can never happen again

I can pivot around imported wines. Avocados, eggs (for different reasons), and coffee are my biggest concerns.

There used to be an oft-quoted statistic " 2/3's of small businesses fail"
It's treacherous waters. Most will fail anyway of some cause or another. Some probably failed in the past at least in part because of NAFTA and some probably failed in the past at least in part because of China being allowed to join the WTO. Some have failed because of tax policy and regulatory changes. Many, many have failed because it is tougher to borrow money as a small business these days, and may of those have failed because a large customer didn't pay its bills, or they got sued, etc.
I think tariffs are a minor footnote compared to the myriad other challenges to a small business, but surely there are some that will fail due to tariffs because some sort of sweet spot will disappear and they can't adapt.

I dont know of many small businesses that focus on importing goods/services. Most small businesses I can think of are almost completely local with regards to goods and services.

What points to this lasting 2-3 years or more? Some temporary price increases that affects everyone isn't going to put anyone into bankruptcy.

Exactly. We all know that everything that increases in price is always going to come back down.

The tarrifs themselves? I cant see how. Our Tariffs don't impact local business directly.
If they are doing business in countries that get cute and retaliate to our evening out of the trade, then probably.
But that is an indirect impact at best.

What

Small/Boutique retail companies that import clothing/electronics are directly impacted.
Grocery stores that import foreign specialty products
Coffee shops that import beans.
That's just off the top of my head
That's not even including the people who sell imported crap nobody needs on Amazon. LIke it or not those are our small businesses still.
