7 year old threw it on yesterday and I forgot how good it is, had been a while.

Great songs, good story, good villain, probably one of the more underrated Disney movies out there.

Much better movie than Frozen IMO.

Anyone else like this one and watch it when the kids throw it on?

I thought it was a much better actual story than frozen. Frozen just had a soundtrack that caused its meteoric popularity.

Honestly Disney should use the tangled model to make a new princess movie like the princess and the pea or something. Still had a love story and the “princess” was still one of the heroes.

They would have cast Zendaya as Rapunzel.

It’s better for adults than Frozen but I see why little kids like Frozen better.

Tangled has lots of quirky songs that I would consider very well done and clever within the context of the movie.

Frozen has several songs that are epic and work as stand alone numbers without context which is why the music is so much more popular

good villain

Mother Gothel was hands down Disney's best villain in decades. There was more dimension put into her character than most baddies. The best villains are those who have a method to their madness, and maybe even a tiny bit of redeemability to their character. Despite the fact that she used Rapunzel's magic to keep herself young, I always got the impression that Gothel did grow to care about her adopted daughter at least in some small way. It was kind of a Munchausen Syndrome type of situation, but rather than physically harming Rapunzel, she gaslighted her into believing that staying in the tower was for her own good, as the outside world was a very dangerous place.

It’s a nearly perfect movie.

The tv series they made after is solid as well. Definitely worth a watch with the young ones if they loved the movie.

I have come to appreciate "I have a Dream" and "Mother Knows Best" more and more with time. Also, Zachary Levi's performance as Flynn was perfect.

He's really good.

Moore is also great in it.

True - It's almost unfair to compare other villains to her, considering how good a villain she is.

I also didn't realize until today that the voice of Vlad is Jaws (from James Bond).

Hell, the unnamed thugs are an impressive voice cast:

Jeffrey Tambor
Brad Garrett
Paul F. Tompkins

Mother Gothel was voiced by Donna Murphy, who has been in a TON of stuff but I still remember her as the romantic interest for Picard in Insurrection and the wife of Doctor Octavius before she dies during his experiment.

Gutfeld jokingly said the plans for Live Tangled was to feature a lesbian with a butch haircut that had to use her underarm hair to get Flynn up top

Donna Murphy,

Before Tangled, I knew of her predominantly from her work on the Broadway stage. I actually got to meet her during my very first trip to NYC as a kid. My parents took us to see The King and I and she was starring as Anna. She was so gracious and nice in person.

I love this movie. It's close to perfect.

Not sure who I like more: Maximus or Olaf.

When my daughter was heavy into the princess phase, Tangled and Princess and the Frog were two that I never had an objection.

Everything about Tangled is significantly superior to Frozen. Yet, as has been stated, the Frozen soundtrack sent it into the stratosphere. Even though the music in Tangled is really rather remarkable.
