Sorry I don’t give money to those who make more than me. Their AD makes $468k and the university president makes $520k. Head coach makes $1.3M. How about some of the head honchos take a salary cut?

So you want to rob Peter to pay Paul?

How about people take their money and just buy shite from local businesses/start their own enterprise, instead of giving it to paid transients who will be on your team for a cup of Coffee and blow town through the Portal Express?

ADs across the land are fricked in the head....stop acting like you're Mayor of Fansville and whatever tiny success a podunk mid-major may have on a bouncey-ball court is the answer to everyone's personal dreams, wealth and quality of life. If you have to beg for dough, maybe intramurals is the place to go.

But the coach didn’t have ice cream parties for the team after practice so they ran him off.

That is my problem with all of this.

I want my team to win...............but I already buy season tickets and you asking me to give more..............just to put money in an 18/19 year olds pocket so they can get a new car/clothes,etc???

I cant afford a new car but I am gonna give extra so that some kid can live good??

F that !

I’m seeing over $2,000,000 in extra NIL if each of them donates all but $100k/year of their salaries to the collective. Certainly they can live off of six figures, no?

It’s really not the athletes at this point, it’s the fig AD/University President/Admins of the world making this unbearable

The AD isn't saying "natty or bust" though. He literally states "competitive place within our league".

Since the introduction of the transfer portal, WSU has made the First Four once, and that was in a season where they didn't play several games due to Covid stuff.

$1 million honestly doesn't seem like an outrageous goal for them. They don't even have a football program to compete with for funding.

Take out the sentimentality and nostalgia of college athletics and look at it purely as a business.

It is insane to keep pumping money into this thing.

I stopped watching basketball. Next I need to stop watching football.

Will be a badminton fan before supporting the legalised bribery sports.

Zero chance they'd be able to hold on to Fred Van Vleet, Ron Baker, and Cleanthony Early if that team came along now

Imagine giving money for an 18 yr old kid you never met to drive a sports car. How stupid. Anyone who donates is a fool.

Sounds like the letter the University of New Orleans AD sent out over the summer before suddenly deciding to peace out of the job

as a coach myself I’m the last one to say everything needs to be a kumbaya circle.

One of the “hardest” coaches I’ve ever worked with knew Gregg Marshall personally (played golf with him a lot) and told me he wasn’t surprised by it given what he knew.
