Specifically mentions the Saints at 9. Says there is so much buzz around Dart ascending that he’s trying to get a handle on it.

Dart at 9 is the play. Time to accept it and rally behind the future.

I kind of want it to happen just for the experience on this board.
This place melted when we took Marshon Lattimore who was a top CB and the best player available.
Can you imagine if we took Jaxson Dart at 9? It would be so awesome on here. I'd have to take off work the next day

As a Saints and Ole Miss fan, I am right there with you.

It's the same melting that would have occurred with Patrick Mahomes lol

I believe it.
He’ll be similar to Nix.

Dart is a project. He has no elite traits, is a slow processor, little experience under center, never was asked to make tight throws, and is a Kiffin QB.
No QB who played in college for Kiffin has stuck in the NFL. He schemes people open and makes playing QB easy on his college QB’s. That will not work in the NFL.

is a slow processor,
he is statistically the best QB under pressure/when blitzed in this class by a wide margin.
He is actually statistically better when pressured and having to process the play quickly
You're actually incredibly wrong LMAO

Lance Zierlein 2025 NFL mock draft 3.0: NFL.com
9. New Orleans Saints
JIHAAD CAMPBELL
ALABAMA
LB
32. New Orleans Saints
JAXSON DART
MISSISSIPPI
QB
PROJECTED TRADE WITH PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
With teams like the Giants (No. 34 overall) and Raiders (No. 37) sitting in front of the Saints (No. 40) in the second round, New Orleans swaps with the Eagles to land a quarterback.

I have trust in Moore as a QB whisperer until he proves he isn't. If I recall, I think we have a scout on staff that is considered the absolute best QB scout in the NFL. I believe Nick was talking about how accurate his grades have been, but they hadn't had the chance to take a QB until recently.
If they think Dart at 9 or another QB at 40 is the guy, I am all for it.

I hope Miller is right. Either we are in a position to take who the new HC wants or to parley the pick.

It is my implied point. Lots of opinions that are meaningless. I simply provided yet another one.

Kiffin's offense predetermines throws to only one side of the field so the QB only has to read one side of the field/coverage pre snap. It also only calls for one or two route reads. It's why you would see Dart struggle at times when he made the wrong pre snap read or his initial options were taken away. That's when you would see Dart take sacks, force throws & turn the ball over via interception or sack fumble.
quote:
Dart was able to make reads pre-snap but often made plays based on one read or a half-field read. There was some but not enough evidence to confidently suggest Dart could consistently process defensive coverage post-snap, nor was there enough evidence to show he could make full-field reads. These factors are common when a quarterback plays in a schemed-up college offense, and they're obviously critical for success in the NFL.
quote:
Definitely had bouts of locking in on one player before throwing. Can't get away with that in the pros.
quote:
Didn't take easy throws as often as he should have, often looking for the bigger play but resulting in missed opportunities.
quote:
When Dart struggled to make reads post-snap, or locked in on a player, or passed up easy throws, he naturally held the ball too long. Sometimes it worked out for him as he'd still complete passes, but in the pros that figures to mean more incompletions, sacks and interceptions.
quote:
Was definitely pressure sensitive, frequently opting for the escape hatch with his legs rather than sticking in a muddy pocket or behind the line of scrimmage. Didn't consistently keep his eyes downfield when on the move and frankly gave up too soon on pass plays once pressure arrived. This seemed to especially be a factor in the second halves of games.
LINK
Defenses that were able to game plan & scheme to confuse Dart & take away his initial read as well as having the personnel to match up with the Ole Miss receivers, were able to give Dart fits over the years. This will be a weekly occurrence in the NFL & not just a handful of games in a season like Dart experienced in the SEC.

I like Nix…..did last draft process as well. The main concern for me with him was arm strength, but I figured he would be pretty good. But people here were freaking out about him.
I think Dart is much more talented than Nix, and played against better opponents consistently. Dart has been more consistent (against better competition) than both Shedur AND Cam Ward.
Of course that doesn’t mean it will translate, QBs are notoriously hard to project. BUT I would rather gamble on him than Ward or Sanders. Neither of them are close to as good as Jayden was entering the draft

I only want it to happen so I can bump the post I made about a rumor a friend told me he was going to be the saints pick during the senior bowl practices. And got a bunch of shite in here about it. This was two months ago way before the hype.
