On this day in 1991, They released their debut studio album “God Fodder” featuring "Kill Your Television" “Happy” "Until You Find Out" and "Grey Cell Green"
I love this song, I used to play it on repeat

Believe it or not, this was the most brutal pit I have ever experienced. Got to see them at Tips back in the 90s, and it was intense. What a night!
This was one of my favorite bands at one point. The way they use the two bassists is brilliant. Damn, I need to respin them now.
Titch, one of the BSides to Gray Cell Green, is my favorite song of theirs. The melody they bring with the bass is wonderful, and the guitars to bring out the song at the end is amazing.

Three of those come up regularly in my mixes. I am always happy to hear them.

John Penney did form the band Groundswell UK not long after Neds disbanded. It was ok. I got to see them play at The Shim Sham club when that was still open, and their music was much better live than studio

I had a friend that past away and he use to play that album a lot back in 91. Reminds me of all of his house parties. Good times to those parties.

One of the most underrated albums of all time. This album was blasted in my car & at our fraternity house in 92-93 nonstop. God Fodder is greatness.

Probably reminds you of that Chic

They're one of those bands that are forgotten about because of grunge and Britpop. A lot of those college radio bands from the late 80s-early 90s are in the same boat -- I think that even applies to REM.

I was in High School back then and they never hit my radar. There was really a lot of new good music that came out that year. I guess they never got gobbled up because they were not from Seattle.
I have not looked them up and guessing may be from Europe/Australia? Complete guess though. Then again I did not know that Candlebox was from Seattle until I saw one of their shows a few years back.

I think I saw them live at some festival at one point, but my memory is fading.

Always my first thought when I hear a NAD reference.

think we’ve had this convo before
band i was in was originally called The Murpheys, we ditched the girl singer and replaced her with a dude and became Young Jack Pines
when i left the band and was replaced they carried on as Emma Peel
this was all from very early 1991-summer 1993

Oh yeah, I do now.
I remember an Emma Peel but I didn't get to Starkville until summer of 94.
