NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday she has directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty against Luigi Mangione, the man accused of gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel on Dec. 4.

It is the first time the Justice Department has sought to bring the death penalty since President Donald Trump returned to office in January with a vow to resume federal executions.

'bout time.

He's California's poster boy for a new act concerning insurance with his name tied to it.

If you’re going to have a death penalty, this is the right case in which to seek it.

The comments on the social media posts of this AP headline are disturbing.

People really think this shite stain is some kind of hero? He gunned a man down in broad daylight for the "crime" of being the head of a health insurer.

It wasn't even his insurer.

Those look like a bunch of federal overreach laws, even if I like the potential result in this case

Yeah, why was this not a New York thing? I guess because there are no executions possible in New York.

He's not gutting either, and has not said that.

He has exposed fraud in both and the jackass Dem party/politicians hate the fact they are losing their SS supplement checks from the 251 year old folks in the US. That's why they've screamed Trump was ending SS, for folks to push back and supposedly stop it, which would keep their SS paydays coming in.

Aren't Dems the most dumbass dumbasses in the world! Literally!

Wow you really got me. Only way the tax cuts work is to cut these programs in some form or fashion. There simply isn’t enough of other things available to make up for it.

But much tarrifs!! Grab a book

If Mangione gets a Dim appointed NY judge he is likely not getting the death penalty, if they move the trial to Platte County MO dude is screwed.

This trial will cost millions. They could put a .22 magnum to his temple for $0.48 and be done with it.

Mangioni is a cold, calculated and deliberate killer. He doesn't deserve the breath he draws.
