Did Kim run her off? Or was her NIL price too high? She’s avg 18 ppg 4.5 Rebounds and 5.5 assists for the Horn Frogs this year. Would she have helped this year?

She did not fit, and it was obvious from the very first game

No. Kim loved her

Had nothing to do with it.

Hailey needed to go somewhere where she could get 20 shots a game. She wasn't going to get that here with Williams, Johnson, and Morrow.

There didn't appear to be hard feelings on either side. I think everyone is happy on both sides.

She was played out of position at LSU. HVL is a natural #2 shooting guard. Kim had her at PG and she looked lost trying to facilitate the offense. Defense is her Achilles heel. Credit Kim and Haley for trying but this experiment was doomed from the beginning

I don't know if "doomed" is the correct word--we did make it to an Elite 8 with the "experiment"

She had foot issues all year that slowed her down

I've read a combination of her injury here and the competition she faces now is a step down from the SEC

Looked to me like LSU, out of necessity, tried to make a PG out of her. She's an SG.

I thought she wanted to be a PG and Mulkey got her to LSU by offering her that chance.

it was an mutual agreement before she transferred. Even though it didnt work out, I still think it helped her overall game. Shes playing the best ball of her career.

She wasn’t forced to play point guard. She transferred here because CKM told her she’d be starting at PG. HVL wanted to expand her game as a playmaker to improve her WNBA draft stock.

I and a lot of folks thought adding HVL to a loaded team meant we’d go undefeated. I thought sure, she’ll be a great playmaker and still score a bunch. It did not work out because HVL could not play PG.

And as a two, she needed to be some place like Louisville where she is the dominant shooter. That would not happen at LSU with Williams and Johnson. TCU was the perfect place.

So things worked out well this season for both LSU and TCU. I wish HVL well until they play LSU. And as someone else said, reaching the Elite Eight last year is definitely not a failure. And Angel Reese was dominating on the boards in that Iowa game. If she had not gotten injured, LSU was Final Four bound in 2024.

She wanted to play point. Was a reason she transferred in the first place and LSU needed a PG bad. She just isn’t a PG though.

I’ve always thought this as well—Van Lith was not a point guard and was playing out of position.

This is correct.
