The year is 1850. You've decided to seek your fortune in the California gold rush

How do you get there?
1. Oregon Trail
Pros: cheapest.
Cons: Six months or more. Injuns, disease, starvation.
2. Boat to Panama, across the isthmus by donkey, another boat to California.
Pros: Quickest
Cons: you'll probably die of yellow fever.
3. Schooner around Cape Horn.
Pros: Relatively luxurious
Cons: You probably can't afford it. You may be lost at sea.

I take a plane and land at one of the few airports that existed back then, just like Joe Biden said.

Whichever way is the opposite of a Taylor Sheridan route

I was a sailor I was borne upon the tide
And with the sea, I did abide
I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still

Oregon Trail. I’d take my Land Cruiser there filled with automatic weapons and medications and MREs.

4. Canada
Hunting and fishing the whole way out.
When I got there I would see what miners were spending their money on and enter that business. (run a brothel and bar in the meantime)
