"Hit. Deader than hell." after the second shot. Reply is correct about “Hit. Center chest.” But my shitty hearing version would have been cooler.

That isn't an easy shot in that wind. Whoever was giving him his holds was dead on which should be expected.

Based on TOF and the impact sound delay, that's roughly a 400m-600m shot. Pretty routine shot with a scoped rifle.

And if those Marines were shooters, they'd never let him set up behind the rifle like that, especially on camera.

He served as a Command Sergeant Major the NG (he retired as a Master Sergeant as he didn't complete the required PME to keep the Command Sergeant Major role) so he fired a weapon plenty of times. His ribbon rack is less than impressive, though. Being in a non direct combat role, firing/handling a weapon may not have been taken seriously though.

Not much of a wind call at 500m with a .308, much less a .50.
