Kade Anderson's improvement from year 1 to year 2 has been unreal.

GIve Yeski a lot of credit for his development. Can yall think of another pitcher who has shown this big of a jump in pitching in just one year in the recent past for lsu?

There is a part of me that is starting to dislike Yeskie, and I wonder why Jay likes him.
But as far as developing pitchers it is so hard to tell.
We have 6 pitchers returning from last year.
2 didn’t really pitch at all (Noot and Shores)
1 hasn’t pitched thisnyear so it is hard to gage development (Guidry)
1 is our Friday Night Starter and made a huge improvement
1 seems hnpotchable (Woods)
1 is Primeaux who is clearly better than last year but not great.
We have a great group of freshmen, so it is nice to think we’ll start seeing development, because there will be guys to develop.

Not really. He is and always has been a strike thrower. Commanding a 3rd pitch isn’t unexpected at this level.

I didnt think he was that guy that yall kept saying he was. I was wrong.

Elaborate on this just out of curiosity

Paul David Skenes

dude anyone could see that coming... lefty throwing 95-97, all he needed was to add weight and work on a secondary pitch... it ain't that damn hard when you already throw that damn hard... kid is good. but hell, adding 20lbs does the trick...

You could see that he would become a cemented Friday night starter one of the best in the SEC/Country?? No chance arse clown.

80% of LSU's pitching staff throws "that damn hard". So by your logic, if they all gain 20 pounds, they will all be Friday night aces. Got it, thanks.

It’s only unreal on TigerDroppings
Normal baseball people recognize that baseball is a long game, that guys tend to improve the longer they are in a good college program, and they know that the biggest jump is usually Freshman to Sophomore year

You don’t know baseball if you couldn’t see it in him then. He had elite games last season against some good teams. He always could throw strikes all over the zone with his FB and breaking pitch. He didn’t command the back door well or have a change which he has now.
He had a great post season last season not giving up anything.
His ERA last season was deceptive because it was fast balls he left fat.

This is an extreme over-simplification. It's one thing to be able to throw hard, but you'll fool very few people if you can't locate your pitches. If there is no threat that ball will cross the strike zone, batters will quickly adjust and force you to prove you can. Anderson throws hard AND can locate his pitches, something he struggled with at times last year. Also, adding a secondary pitch, that he can also throw fir a strike, makes him less predictable. All of these things work together. He did not simply just gain 20lbs, although that likely helped as well.

Dude we knew he would be good, we knew he would improve, but him being this damn good is not something that is obvious. He literally might be the best pitcher in the league. I dont see anyone who would've predicted that at the end of last year. Quit trying to a baseball know it all and use logic.

He has guys throwing breaking balls 1st 2nd 3rd pitch of every at bat.

No DUDE
He was great at the end of last season in the NC regional and SEC tournament - he gave up ZERO. A volume strike thrower commanding a 3rd pitch is nothing more than Skenes getting an extra one. In fact Skenes didn’t show a change until towards the end of his season. That was a common post about having heat and a slider at 93.
So his jump is not as remarkable as you are trying to make it out to be.
Plus he has a whole season to go. The back door breaking ball is his best friend to righties.
