Remember Mr Sowell’s powerful observation:

quote:
You will never understand bureaucracies until you understand that for bureaucrats procedure is everything and outcomes are nothing.
The resident legal “experts” swim around in the language of their purview, while admitting to being tangential adolescents relative to solving real problems
How can anyone be proud to study so intently until finally discovering language to cost this country billions, while infrastructure and society crumbles around them….disgusting vile people

Economists are generally inhibited by concerns like scarcity and cost/benefit.
Politicians are free to use their imaginations.

Wish we could say the same in regards to lawyers’ various interpretations of the Constitution

DOGE hasn't cut any federal spending/printing. The Trump-supported CR funds government at Biden levels until September

I was quoting Sowell last night to the chagrin of some MAGA memetics

Much of the credentialed class of the past 20-30 years is proving itself to be out of touch with main street, lacking common sense and extremely susceptible to Gaslight Media propaganda.

For about the fourth time, I’ll say you are being disingenuous with this line of accusation. The last CR, during the Biden administration, moved the date to so early in the Trump Administration that there was no time to deal with it. Let’s see what they do between now and September. It seems logical that they will, at the very least, ask for cuts in budgets to capture the DOGE cuts, which actually are saving money because some of the cuts are causing unspent money to pile up.
My guess is that they will use this unspent money to “restimulate” the economy to make up for the reduction in spending due to DOGE cuts, and - let’s face it - to buy voter satisfaction. Then they will make the cuts permanent in the next budget bill which will be passed with overwhelming voter support due to their being bribed with DOGE stimulus.

I don't understand why Trump hasn't awarded the PMOF to Sowell by now. He is the smartest living American, easily. I think he's the smartest American that ever lived. His ability to distill complicated and voluminous amounts of information is unmatched.

We all know you didn’t vote Trump.
You are the idiot that claims he voted for Kanye in 2020.
Let’s be real, we’d be fricked if you got your way. You also wanted Kerry.
At no time have you been on the cut spending train.

Our resident prophet knight of old left us this nugget several nights ago and it so struck me that I took a screenshot of it.
“You can fix ignorance but not stupidity.
That's why it's a fool's errand to indulge these troglodyte zealots with debate, which they think means being loquacious about things like
'process' or worse, self-regarding 'expertise'...”
This quote is such a gem that explains most of my co-workers to a T. Their efforts toward the process has nothing to do with effective improvements. It’s their way of justifying their jobs and covering their asses to keep it.

do you think I wanted Kanye to be President? :

I also wanted alcohol made illegal in 2008 when I voted for the Prohibitionist party too, per your "logic"

From Fall-Winter 2005 until now, I have. Going on 20 years straight.

I want equal tv time. For every time we have hear Maxine Waters, Jasmine Crocket, and Cane Man Cave Man, we should have a clip of Sowell, Alan West, and Kat Williams.

There is a thread on page 1 where people are currently criticizing Sowell, just as they did last night

Sowell's great, but too many people use the argument "I'm right because Sowell agrees with me" here. He's not infallible, and the argument is an appeal to authority.
Either the argument can stand on its own merits or it can't. Having a sponsor for your argument doesn't convince people capable of thinking on their own. On the contrary, if you need to name drop, it makes your argument less convincing.
