favorite Cajun seasoning: salt vs. no salt vs. DIY

Trying to find a standard Cajun seasoning I can use at home until I find something that I can use as my go-to seasoning. What does the F&D Board recommend for this? Ideally I would prefer to go with something without salt so that I can adjust that on my own, but it's not a deal breaker. Also, was not sure if it was best just to find out what I could do by blending my own mixture of spices.

I like to try different stuff, and I'm really liking the Hot Honey Hog on pork meats for the pit.
However, to answer your question simply, my current go-to for Cajuns seasoning:
Land Animals: Nunu's
Aquatic Animals: Crawcane

I do like Camp Dog. It's actually perfect for smothered green beans.

Nunu's
That's my current favorite as well.
Dam Good Stuff is awesome and available at quite a few smaller stores and is made in Pierre Part.
Art's Season All from Targill is good.
Plus I have jars from several specialty meat places throughout Acadiana. Chop's, Billeaud's, Don's, etc.
But NuNu's is the best IMO.

I love Nunu's, but don't use it on aquatic animals, unless I'm doing something like cast iron blackened fish or shrimp.

I always have a handful of different ones on hand, but my go to the last few months has been bon caca. I have a few I use in certain dishes, but for versatility it is my new favorite.

Cajun Two-Step now has a salt-free version, and it's in Walmart.

DIY. Too easy to use better quality spices and and make it how you like it. FYI Tony’s original recipe is in his cookbook, if that’s the profile you like. Others are likewise available online and can be used as a starting point.

All the Cajun seasonings are 80-90% salt. Just seasoning to your liking. I prefer the no sodium blends-they have a lot of pepper. Too many folks equate a good salty meal as Cajun. Tony's has a high sodium level, the chili seasoning adds to that. And, I avoid all the seasonings with MSG and sugar. Why the hell add sugar.

Same. Some places don't carry it for some reason so you can just add jalapeno since that's the only difference from the Honey Hog.

Piyah seasoning. I rather the original (spicier) than the mild.

Rod’s in Church Point is my favorite.

Got damn. Was unaware the FDB hated Tony's so much. The original is too salty for sure but the More Spice is pretty damn good. It's not like the other brands are using anything radically different in their mix. They are all close to the same.
