A little surprised our drop was that big in D1's poll. Either way, great week to sweep Mississippi State and start the climb back up. LSU is currently sitting at the #38 RPI and #192 SOS.

8 is perfect spot. if we lose weekend series against state we should fall between 15-22

It’s a harsh fall considering Saturday wasn’t that bad a loss on the road

college baseball pollsters are almost always more emotional and reactionary than they are in other sports, which is kind of odd when you think about the nature of the sport

So Tennesse goes 2-2 and we go 2-2 in the last 4 games and they remain at #1 and we fall about 5 spots losing to #5 Texas

Shows how much midweek games are a complete afterthought to pollsters

Well it all depends on what poll you are using. We all know that midweek losses don't matter nearly as much as weekend series, it's always been like that. Now if you look at the weekend resumes, LSU (22-3, 4-2) lost 2/3 on the road to the #7 team. They are going to at least drop behind that team. Tennessee (22-2, 5-1) won 2/3 on the road against the #12 team.

LSU has the #38 RPI and #192 SOS. Tennessee has the #1 RPI and #15 SOS. LSU currently has the worst ranked SOS in the SEC at 192. The next closest is Mizzou at 104.

Agreed because had we won yesterday we’d still be #2.

definitely have a get right week and it’s an early week series too so team gets to get right back out there and atone for this past weekend. 7-2 with a sweep would give us a cushion to go lose another series and still finish 20-10 but the melt will be astronomical if that happens, regardless if we’re on pace for a 20-10 season

We lost 2 games to the #8 on the road and drop 5 spots.

Tennessee loses 2 games and doesn’t move.

Ideally you want to stay close to the top 8 throughout April to mid May so you can position yourself for a regional host and potential super host.

The goal should be 3/3. Why would your goal be to lose a game?

Ok 3/3 but if that’s not possible 2/3

Looks like the pollsters actually watched and saw how outmatched we were all over the field.

We're lucky to be in the top 10.
