Looking for a new crawfish burner

Looking for recommendations on a new burner that doesn’t cost a fortune. I don’t need a pot/burner set, just the burner.

Just get anyone that has around at least 200,000 BTUs and you are good to go. Will run you between 100-150

Get a basic single jet burner from Bayou Classic or similar, a steel braided hose, and a 30psi regulator. Swap the regulator and hose on the Bayou Classic with the upgraded ones, and you are nice.

Any advice on a jambalaya burner for a flat bottom pot , 5 gallon?

Can always buy anyone u want and drill out the jet. Upgrade the regulator and let her rip.
My custom made one was done that way and it sounds like a F-16 when running and I can get water to a rolling boil in 7mins. Now on a 7 gallon tank I can get about 2.5 boils on a full tank. I’m also running a 100qt pot.

A "banjo" burner is best suited for jambalaya and fish frying.

Go to Leroy's Cajun Cookware in St, Gabriel. Has all kinds of different roll around burners.

I got this one for $120 on Amazon. You can actually hold a conversation standing next to it while boiling. No jet roar.

What makes it better? Honestly curious.

I thought most people just boiled them. Are they better when you burn 'em?

Estate sales usually have burners. Old school ones.

frick a jet burner. I switched to a banjo burner and the noise alone makes it better. And it probably heats the water quicker too. I bought a cheap china one off Amazon l. I had to tune it but moving the burner up a couple inches to put it the proper distance from the bottom of the pot. But it's really nice to be able to talk next to the pot without screaming.

quote:sure jambalaya and frying fish you want to use a banjo.....but that doesn't me it isn't as good for boiling crawfish. The jets are just thought to be the best because that's what everyone has seen used. They are extremely cheap to make from part from a hardware store. And these companies sell them for over 100 bucks for 10-15 bucks of parts.
