Lived up to the hype for sure.

Everything about it was great particularly the cinematography.

The character of Rick was awesome and I thought the French Police Chief stile the movie.

Must watch for anyone who has not seen it.

Crazy this was made while the actual war was going on.

I have lost count to the number of times I've watched Casablanca even saw it in theaters twice when they were doing special showings .

If you've not seen Lawrence of Arabia I suggest it do it on the biggest TV you have, the cinematography is the tits

Watched it for the first time like 15 or so years ago and was immediately mad that I had never seen it before then. It's incredible.

It's maybe the perfect gateway movie to black and white and for those not generally inclined to watch the oldies.

If you watch Casablanca to give bygone eras a try, you will fall in love with black and white and storytelling. The movie is a breeze, fast-paced due to tension and at around 100 minutes long, you have no excuse if you've sat through 181 minutes of Avengers.

It's an absolute must for those that say they love Cinema.

Its a YouTube content creator favorite for those often ridiculous "first time watching" reaction videos....with Casablanca, you actually believe them and their reaction....not so much Star Wars or Terminator 2.

There are a lot of movies that I love to watch but if I really am critical and start knocking them off the list Lawrence of Arabia is my favorite movie of all time.

seen in a theater as it was originally presented, you get lost in that desert and you want to be there it's something that's hard to describe if you haven't experienced it amazingly well shot beautiful movie. well acted ,entertaining battle scenes , hints at gay flirting, explosions

The Bogart-Lorre-Greenstreet combo is just as great here as it was in Maltese Falcon.

I bet I've watched it again three more times. Great movie and I pick up something new each time I rewatch it.

If Hollywood made a perfect film, that film is Casablanca.

Yeah I did that like 4-5 years ago and was floored.

I a not super into classic movies, and i kinda was like “how good can this movie really be?”

exceeds the hype.

I have never seen Casablanca. Not a huge fan of oldies. Not sure why.

I need to sit and watch this movie one day.

I LOVE this movie. It totally holds up and has so much charm.

When they sing the French national anthem I always get a little emotional.

Always blows my mind that when the movie came out, WWII was still raging and we’d yet to invade France. So contemporarily, who knew what would happen with WWII. Always so fun to watch the movie knowing the actors don’t know how the war will end. It adds a good amount of tension.

Specifically, the movie was shot late Spring/Summer 1942, a mere 6 to 9 months after Pearl Harbor, and was set in the days just prior to Pearl Harbor. The unproduced (at the time) play upon which it was based was written just after the German invasion of France.

In other words, the film is set (and was, more or less, written) during the very end of the U.S.'s isolation period and filmed/shown just after that period ended. You see that happen, effectively, in as "real time" as a film can present.

Ingrid Bergman at the time of movie may have been one of the most beautiful women on earth.
