The East coast stops look really nice…not sure about lake and river stops.

Be a fun year if the boat was nice.

I've been from mobile to Demopolis on the Tombigbee and anchored various places - was a really nice trip up and back to Mobile. Also have been Mobile to Key West by Sailboat along the Intercoastal - crossing from Apalachicola over (bypassing the big bend).

the only areas that would give me great concern is the great lakes - those places can be rough in storms

Every single move I have made in the last 10 years and every move I will make in the next 10 years is to set my wife and I up to do the loop.

In a very nice boat.

From there, we will cruise the Caribbean and hopefully I can convince her to cross the Panama Canal and we head up to BC.

If we can do that for 5 years and stay healthy, should be right about time for us to come home and raise grandkids.

I wonder if that’s why the stops are close up there. Guessing that’s the summer leg of the trip.

This is my brother's dream now. He went down some YouTube rabbit hole with this and actually bumped into one of the guys he's following down in Florida.

I was thinking a late 80’s early 90’s Grand Banks 40 something feet. Yea, so not very nice.

I know a couple of people that have done it out of BSL. Said it was an amazing experience. They cut holes in the ceiling on the inside of the boat to hide the guns when they entered the Canada portion.

I’ve met a couple of older fellas at TBT that were heading out on the loop. I love the ‘sold everything’…’frick it I’m gone’ adventure.

you'd be surprised man - I have been up around Duluth and also on the west coast of MI in Ludington for business and had severe storms roll across the lake - you'd swear it was the Gulf - those lakes can get angry

Not the great loop but a guy I used to work for in high school went from NOLA to New York for the 1976 USA bi centennial tall ships celebration. He had a Grand Banks type trawler. But he didn’t bring it back to NOLA, he left the boat in NYC and hired a yatch broker to sell it.

We keep our boat at a marina that gets a lot of Great Loop traffic.

The drop off in traffic has been significant in the most recent years.

Be a fun year if the boat was nice. And your personal finances very, very deep pocketed and replenished magically each time the cost of fuel goes up.

Lot of good YouTube channels of people doing it in various types of boats. I watch Zoffinger on 2nd monitor a lot and he tried but gave up. Made it from
Tampa to North Carolina I think. His boat had a ton of problems.
