Butterfinger used to be one of the best candy bars

I don’t know when they did it but they fricked with the recipe and it’s not as flaky and it doesn’t have that soft crunch. The inside is like a brick and is all one big piece and it just simply doesn’t taste as good. What the frick happened?

Ingredients maybe?
Corn Syrup, Sugar, Ground Roasted Peanuts, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil, Cocoa, Molasses, and Less Than 1% of, Dairy Product Solids, Confectioners Corn Flakes, Nonfat Milk, Salt, Soy Lecithin, Soybean Oil, Cornstarch, Natural Flavor, Monoglycerides, TBHQ and Citric Acid (To Preserve Freshness), Annatto Color.

I agree. I haven’t had one in a hot minute because of this… And what’s up with every single one in the world being broke in half when you pick it up?

I always preferred 5th Avenue and CLARK over Butterfinger.

I went by the Butterfinger factory in Chicago earlier. You shouldn’t eat anything coming out of there.

They changed the recipe a couple of years ago and they suck not. I have gotten one of the new formula bars and given up on them

So with an adoption by such a renown parent company, it's only natural the humble peanut butter-based candy bar once hawked by Bart Simpson would be subject to a little refinement. "We started with the key ingredients — peanuts, cocoa, and milk — behind this bar that people are obsessed with and love, and looked at how we could make it even better," Ferrara Marketing Senior Director Kristen Mandel told me. "The Ferraro philosophy is that quality always wins." Those higher quality ingredients include U.S.-grown jumbo peanuts which, according to Mandel, allow for a more "uniform and well-rounded roast." The cocoa in the chocolate-y (not technically full-on "chocolate") coating has been upgraded as has the amount of milk in the mix, with the goal of a smoother, less gritty mouthfeel and stronger chocolate flavor. As Mandel succinctly explained, "It's been taken up a notch.

Another change to the wrapper is the list of ingredients, which has shrunk to eliminate hydrogenated oils and tertiary butylhydroquinone or TBHQ, a move the brand says is in line with consumer demand. (Artificial colors and flavors were nixed from Butterfinger a few years ago.)

Candy bars just don't taste good, especially the sugar free ones I have to have. But I ask my wife to hide a dark chocolate bar with hazelnuts from Trader Joe's. A couple of bites doesn't affect my glucose level and it kills the craving.

Butterfingers were always good for sticking to your teeth and enabling a peanut butter flavor for hours. Imma watchamacallit fan for what it’s worth.

Those are much softer then the regular size
