I would say it worked out pretty well for daniels and berreaux!

Typically the perceived draft position as a junior is just that, perception. They are more likely to get drafted the same place their Jr year after all the evaluations as they did as seniors.
That being said, injury is the only exception to this.

It worked out well for Tre White
. I would say it didn’t work out for Jacoby Stevens. If he had left after the Natty, he would have been drafted in the top 4 rounds probably. That 2020 season was a disaster for the whole team.

I think Sam Montgomery lost some money by coming back

Coming back for their senior season worked out very well for those former Tigers:
Marcus Spears
Corey Webster
Matt Flynn
Kyle Williams
Ali Highsmith
Brady James
Chad Lavalais
Rohan Davey
Andrew Whitworth (5th year senior)
Laron Landry
Glenn Dorsey
Tyson Jackson
Booger McFarland
Joe Burrow
Jayden Daniels
Et al....

Sam played '10 to '12. He could've returned for '13 but chose to go pro.

Trev Faulk sticks out for me

Kendell Beckwith tore his ACL in his senior season of 2016
Still managed to be a 3rd rounder, but he'd have gone higher if healthy

I thought CWeb should've left after 03. He was 1st/ 2nd team AA, had gotten a ring, and had already been in school 4 years.
As a fan, I loved having him back, but from a business standpoint, I didn't get it. Good for him if he just liked being at LSU that much.

Many times there is a perception that a player dropped by coming back because they were lower than their draft grade. In most cases, their weaknesses would have been exposed at the combines after their Junior years instead of their senior years. Most players improve their grades because their is another year of film on them and they greatly improve their performance that is not a measurable.
