Damn, that’s a real shame…

It’s from MSN, and they still seem hopeful to flip the House (if things continue like they’ve been, I don’t see it happening); but Republicans should gain ground in the Senate!

quote:

Democrats anxious to deny Donald Trump and his Republican Party a governing trifecta as soon as possible are feeling pretty good about their prospects for flipping the House in 2026, given the GOP’s fragile margin of control and the historical pattern of sizable midterm losses for the president’s party. But the Senate, which has the power to confirm Trump’s executive branch and judicial nominations, is really going to be a reach. Democrats would need to flip four Senate seats to win control of the chamber. And an already difficult landscape is being made even tougher by the retirements of Democratic incumbents Gary Peters of Michigan, Tina Smith of Minnesota, and now Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire. All three of these open seats could potentially trigger competitive races in 2026.

Meh...maybe Michigan will be competitive, but I don't see NH or MN flipping red in 26

If ActBlue gets shite down along with USAid - they are fricked. They won’t win a single election again for at least a decade or two

At this juncture, Democrats seem to outperform in midterms because midterms are low turnout. I’d not buy the hype no matter how incompetent the Democrats are at being the minority party.

Well, McTurtle stepping down certainly opens the door for a conservative to replace him.

I've never really understood Kentucky's recent trend. They give us arguably the most conservative and rational Senator but then they also give us a RINO swamp pig.

If Sununu runs for the seat in NH, it absolutely flips.

I'm pretty sure he is, which is why Shaheen retired.

Democrats are going to easily take the house. We just need to hold the Senate so Trump can pack judges.

They will not easily win the House if they continue to act like they did at Trump's speech. The Rs need to hang that around every moderate Dem there is....

The only way they win the House is..

1. Economy tanks massively. Not going to happen.
2. Somehow Dems change the narrative about how crazy their House members are.

Even fricking Carville agrees that how they acted at the speech dooms them. If they continue, hang that around every one of their necks, and they will end up losing seats.

Don't forget all while electing Bashear as Governor.

So, statewide voters elected multiple times Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell, and Andy Bashear. You couldn't have a more wide spectrum.

Although, it's not without precedent. Iowa for more than 20 years elected Chuck Grassley and Tom Harkin as US Senators. Same statewide voting base, but electing 2 polar opposites policy wise.

Wisconsin is another. Ron Johnson has won multiple terms, but they have had Baldwin and Herb Kohl in the other seat.

States can be weird in their habbits.

I think we can count on Trump being out there and actively campaigning in the midterms

If things improve, even a little; we could have really strong turnout and win
