And, what will your response be when the Republican leadership ultimately implements little to no appreciable cuts in their future budgets? My response will be it will be the last time I vote for a Republican not named Trump, Vance, or DeSantis. I suspect there are a lot of Trump voters who will do the same which will doom the Republican Party as a national party in terms of the Presidency if they fail to nominate Vance or DeSantis

We will revisit this conversation after the usual suspects don’t support a budget with any real cuts

Strawman

You cant ever "cut" the budget

As population grows, the govt is forced to grow with it. You might get an immediate reduction, reflecting the fraud, waste, and illegals services leaving, but every budget, every year will require additional funds. However, with a growing population you will should see those additional funds via taxation

What you are witnessing is decades of abuse. They doesnt change the underlying dynamic of growth

If you add another child, guess what? Your budget increases. The difference is in a home, that child doesnt produce revenue. But in a nation, new taxpayers are added yearly

I want smaller government. By any means.

Kill departments
Kill agencies.
Kill programs

Send back to states

I want value for my tax dollar. I don’t have a problem paying if you show me the benefit.

I don’t particularly have an issue with some things falling under “we can’t tell you, it’s National security”. We pay our government and military to do the distasteful things that must be done.

My issue is that the “National security” category has been used to enrich the politicians and their cronies. They have pissed away the trust of the American people.

Until you regain the trust - cut as much as possible.

Who will you vote for? Cause you won't have many choices that actually influence what is going on.

Vote Dem, you will get even more of what you don't want, plus all the other crazy marxist crap that goes along with it.

Vote 3rd party or independent, you are taking away a vote from someone that at least should slow down the Dems.

US tax revenue is not going to increase at a rate high enough to offset continued spending increases. We are currently running 2 trillion dollar deficits unless something changes. We aren’t offsetting 2 trillion dollars in taxes

It won’t be a Democrat but the days of giving Republicans the benefit of the doubt will be over

I don’t disagree but this is probably the last real opportunity to really reduce the size of government. If it fails there isn’t a person out there with the balls and the wealth to resist the establishment. It may be too late already. We will add another 2 trillion this year

I'd prefer them lined up against a wall and shot for violating the Constitution but I'd settle for primarying them en masse.

You are deeply concerned about the Republican party.

Is it the "Republican leadership's" fault if the Pedocrats filibuster budget cuts?

What would you guess the success rate will be of those primary challenges?
