We can have up to 34.6 mil with only releasing Ram post June 1st (saves 2 mil; believe it would be the same if he retired this year as well), with the rest being straight restructures with no added years.

We have plenty of room to afford him if we wanted (and he wanted to come back).

6ing Loomis refused to acknowledge that Hendrickson was better than davenport. We lucked out on Hendrickson should've cut bait on davenport but Loomis' dumba55 did the opposite. Smh

Some Promoter should organize a football game in the Dome with the Saints playing a team of all star former players the Saints let go.
I'd pay bucks to see that.

And decisions like this is why Loomis should never be taken seriously. He’s a joke and always will be.

Lol. no we don’t. He’s been underpaid for years and wants big bank now.

Plus he’s leaving out of his prime now. That ship has sailed.

Holy shite. We have the worst cap situation (not debatable by any measure) by far in the league and you really believe this drivel.

Bengals are the cheapest NFL team in the league and always have been. If I were Joe Burrow, I would be looking for another team to play for soon.

Problem is he's locked in through 2029 (he'll be 33) and I believe the rules are they can tag him for 2 more years after (when he's 35). If they do not make a serious commitment to that o-line & defense, he will just need to accept his fate and cash as many checks as he can on the way

The cap situation is accurate, but his contract is ripe for the Loomis special. Last year of his contract at $15.8M. Trade for him and convert $14M to a bonus and add void years. Cap hit would drop from $15.8M to <$5M. frick over future caps a little more by restructuring a bunch of guys that are about to retire in the next 1-2 years, and you can even include an extra bonus and extension on top and have him locked up for the next 3-5 years and still keep the 2025 cap hit under $10M.

So to bone's point, there is plenty of room to make it happen. The question is, at what cost?

For the not so enlightened calling me out saying we don't have room, simply go to overthecap and play with the cap calculator, and we can EASILY go from 45 mil over to 32.6 mil under without cutting anyone (34.6 mil once Ram retires).

I have been doing this for years and the OGs here can tell you I know my cap shite. Think before you speak ignorantly.

Edit:
Of course this is all IF we want to keep those players, but we can get to 20 mil under easily as well with a mixture of cuts and restructures as well, and we VERY often use the trick of signing a guy for 2 mil his first year to fit him within the space we have.

We can go get ANYONE we want, if they are willing to come (or if on a team the team is willing to trade). This includes Hendrickson.

Should we go get him is a different question, and one I haven't looked into.

It's good to have you around especially this time of year. Don't have to always agree.

I haven't even put anything that's up for argument out the past couple of days that I can recall. Everything I put up is just straight facts about what we CAN do with the cap, not what we should do.

So not sure why these clueless people are coming at me sideways for putting the facts out there. Must not want the real story I guess.

And a large part of why I was mostly gone the last few years has to do with a certain guy we no longer have around.

Not sure if we are headed in the right direction now, but Allen was ALWAYS the wrong direction.

Pay those fools no mind. Good to see you posting.

Heck, one of those dudes only agenda is the Saints should move. Winston will gossip about end zones and he'll respond with Saints would have better end zones if they moved. Not worth your time worrying about them.
