You know that whole thing that all these other countries say is because of how great they are (free healthcare, schooling etc) It's because they dont have to spend on their militaries because of the US.
Things are about to get real for them when they realize they can't do both.

That number is from US. Russian GDP is one tenth of europe. No reason EU can't pay their own way

Russian hammers don't cost a thousand bucks like the hammers that American defense contractors buy.

How old are these people that are pearl clutching over the Russian boogeyman. Russia is poor and sad. Let them be.

Russia also has a stockpile of reserve weapons, ammo, munitions, artillery, aircraft, armor and more from the cold War so their military is gigantic.
For 50 years the Soviet Union tried to keep up with the US armament buildup and capabilities and it bankrupted them, but it also made sure they had generations of equipment and arms. Albeit outdated, Russia still has a reserve of enough to fight a continental war.
Europe after WW2 had a much smaller buildup because of the devastation of the conflict on their turf, plus big daddy Uncle Sam was always there funding and supplying NATO with everything it needed. Russia is obviously capable of still fighting a war and they have advanced weapon system, but they

Russia has free healthcare so military and free healthcare aren’t mutually exclusive. How Russia pulls it off is they hardly pay their citizens anything so the have super low labor costs allowing more to be built for less.

Russia forces its companies to pay low wages? Or is the labor cost relative to the cost of living like it is everywhere?

When adjusted for purchasing power parity, equates to approximately $462 billion

Paying for their clean cities and nice roads. Honestly all the things we need to do here as far as infrastructure goes.

After you remove the waste and fraud that's about how much we functionally spend too.
