A good young TE who had solid production as a rookie before they drafted Bowers

Makes a lot of sense if New Orleans can swing him for a 5th or 6th.

I liked Mayer a lot in the draft. And we have a hole at TE since Johnson is a fa.

Wish we could trade him straight up for Fosky.

Is he any good? Did he attend TE U Camp hosted by some of the best TE's in the NFL?

Isn't he more of an in-line TE than a receiving threat? He's a good blocker but has trouble getting separation. Sounds like a Foster Moreau clone.

If the coach needs a inline good blocking TE then yes. His catch % went down in 2nd year as did his success %. But he is young and was picked in the top 50.

Yeah somewhat.
I think he could still bring something to the room though, he had two 800 yard seasons in college.
If the price tag is cheap, he'd be a great addition.

He is Foster 2.0. We need a true threat and Foster can be a legit number 2 TE

Carr or who ever steps into the qb role for the saints, needs some talent around him.

A seasoned tightend can make a world of difference for a qb.

He's so damn good. I'd watch the Raiders last year in amazement that they rarely used MAGA Brock and Mayer at the same time.

I'd happily give up a 3rd rounder for him. Maybe even our #40 if the Raiders kicked back a 3rd.

Best thing about Mayer is that he's on a rookie deal for 2 more seasons. Sign me up.

He’s ok but he’s already had 2 years of his rookie deal used up. Unless it was a very low pick I’d rather use a 3rd on an actual rookie and have them cost controlled for a bit longer.

Yea I wouldn’t give up a third either. No way in hell I’m giving up #40.

Id give up a 4th because he’s likely better than any te we could get in that round. Hes a good all around te but was underutilized with Bowers arrival in the receiving game. I think he could show more in the passing game but he will never have huge stats in that area.

Agreed. That's why I said 5th-6th if you can swing it.

Good young player still on his rookie deal

That would be a great trade for us especially because I'm worried CO12 might wear the cuck cap
