What are your thoughts on a weekend rotation. Starters relievers and midweek pitching. Obviously, I will agree with whatever Jay decides but wondering what that may be based on what we have seen so far.

It’s early and we’ve had the luxury of testing out lots of guys to see who is reliable. I’m good with never seeing Kade Woods again.

A lot of strike throwing up till this point.

I know we had a few extra walks than usual, but I've been pleased with the pitching so far.

Freshman have been playing lights out and looks like we actually have some quality depth in that room.

Hoping they continue through SEC play and we see even more improvement.

Anderson is not that dominate Friday night guy, but he may become that guy by the end of the year. The other two guys worry me and I think one of them loses their spot by mid-season.
Bullpen will play it self out with the numbers we have. 2 or 3 Freshman will likely have huge roles, which I don’t think is a big deal.

When the freshman include guys like Schmidt and Evans…… I’m glad they’re playing huge roles

We will go 1 more week and set things for conference play after.

If Ware dominates and goes 5+ innings this week, I would start to worry some if I was a weekend starter

No starter has done anything to get themselves out yet, but Ware could still pitch at a high enough level you might have no choice but to put him in the weekend rotation. They are still being fairly gentle with him since he's missed time the last 2 seasons with injury...but if he starts to really stretch effectively, dude is our best arm arguably.

Neither one of them should worry you, especially Shores

We can’t compare every Friday guy to Paul Skenes

Anderson has been fine.

I don’t think you can have two of your four LHP in a rotation spot. I feel like Ware needs to stay in a stopper role. I’m not sure Primeaux & Williams have built much confidence yet.

Starting pitching for LSU looks weak to me. Freshman will develop into something great. This year? Who knows but there's not a single dominate starting pitcher for LSU. Day 2 and Day 3 is iffy. I think Shores just needs more time to acclimate he has big stuff. I don't see Eyanson being a day 2 guy honestly. He thinks his stuff is better than it actually is. I could see him getting bounced to midweek. Just my opinion.

"Weak" is probably not the best word for our starters. I just don't see anyone being that alpha right now. Shores I think takes time to get back to full form. Eyanson doesn't really impress me personally and I could see him getting shelled in SEC play. Pitching is definitely the biggest question mark for LSU right now. I think hitting will be fine this year.

Why do people on this board have no clue how to spell or use the word dominant?

Ware is going to the pen during SEC play and he will do the Herring role. Jay loves to have one of his best pitchers in the pen.

I think this is the deepest we’ve ever been talent wise, but only Anderson has really seeps rated himself from the rest of the starting pitching candidates.

Still plenty of time for guys to put it together and get in a groove, but Eyanson and Shores have not looked any better than Evans, Schmidt, Ware or Cowan.

Concerned so far with the Weekend Rotation. No one seems to be capable, at least at this point, of being a guy that can consistently go out and give you 7. All 3 had some struggles this weekend.

Very few pitchers give you 7 in today’s game. Set up and relief guys are a much bigger part of baseball than ever before. No body is expected to go 3 times through a line up anymore.

I believe Guidry could be one of our most dominant pitchers and perhaps a weekend starter. Evans looks like he could be a closer. I didn't get to see Schmidt but heard he looked great.

Guidry has a great slider but he doesn’t have enough velocity to be effective as a starter unless he has developed a really good 3rd pitch and a passable 4th pitch. His FB-Slider combo won’t get him all the way thru the lineup once we get into SEC play.
