I would be flying to Cancun on southwest on a nonstop flight but the flights back to msy are all connecting and have pretty bad times. Spirit has a nonstop back to msy that is the perfect time. If I understand the bag fees and other fees, is there any reason not to book this?

The people will be trashier but not much more than that to worry about.

Book it. Take the nonstop, cheap fare, and run with it. If you can, book the big seat up front or an exit row

I recently flew Spirit for the 2nd time ever and I booked the Big seat. It was definitely the way to go. MSY to MCO

I felt "high class" because they took my drink order before we took off, free snacks, and I could've ordered an alcoholic drink for free.

Ive done this, prepare by making sure you have the right bag sizes and you are fine.

We did one way back from MCO to MSY during christmas and the self bagging station was so broken. It wouldn't read documents or bags correctly. Wasted almost 20 minutes trying to mess with it. If you are able to just take a rolling carry on, use that. If not, i hope you have better luck than me.

Haven't flown the big seats but ive heard good things. Consider buying their frequent flyer program if it knocks the price of your trip down. It's a much smoother plane than the 737s IMO.

Upgrade to Go Big, it essentially cuts through all of the extra fee BS and gets you a First Class style seat.

yes, the big seats on spirit are the best bang for the buck. We choose spirit whenever we can

Far and away the most pleasurable domestic flight experience

I have done three flights in and out of their FLL hub. No complaints at all. I think when you have issues connecting and/or departure issues are when you’d retreat going low cost. But I will continue to book with them when direct and cheap.

Spirit big seat in the best value in the airline industry. Anything in the menu unlimited. Carry on and checked bags, and wifi all included in the price. Probably less than the southwest ticket price also.

I’ve flown Spirit to DR several times. It’s decent but there will be some trashy people. Not much worse than some of the trash I saw on delta to ATL
