Just bought a new house, looking to upgrade my grill game.

I’ve looked at traeger and green eggs.

All I’ve ever used is a small Weber charcoal grill.

Not looking to spend an arm and a leg, but am comfortable around 1500 on the top end.

What’s the OT suggest?

What do you like to cook. I have both and they are both good at what they do but not necessarily great at all things. Pellet grills are great for the casual user. It’s basically a smoking oven. There are some that expose the flame for searing options. I like those so you can sear high heat. Egg takes more time to get the fire right but gives a better quality smoke or direct fire cooking. But it takes time to get the coals right. I feel an egg type is better but you can mess up things pretty quickly. Pellet is much easier to not screw up.

Came here to post this.
I have made some damn good food on one of these. It lasts forever, portable, and decent price.

Also, can easily store it away when the season is over (for those of us that experience all four seasons).

I don’t consider my Traeger a grill but that’s me.

Mainly burgers, steak, chicken, but wouldn’t hate the ability to do some pizza or flattop stuff. So anything that I can use accessories with would be cool.

It’s just for family/friends, I won’t be throwing any block parties ha

Masterbuilt 1150 gravity is the most versatile. Assemble it yourself or buyer beware - it is not trivial to put together and Big Box store assemblers may cut corners.

Ceramics are great too and have their place. If you go ceramic, get a Primo Oval. The oval cooking surface really is that much more versatile than a round.

I have had pellet grills too, and they are OK, but do not measure up to the two above IMO.

I like my reqteq a lot, obviously in the pellet grill line with traeger but it’s good looking and very durable so far

I’m looking for a propane gas grill but I’ll always still use my Weber.

It’s a cooking apparatus that has its place. Like my Blackstone, Traeger and hopefully soon my new gas grill.

Grills are like guns you can’t have just one. I love my green egg had it for over 20 years. I see the attraction of flat grills and also gas grate grills and pellet smokers. Build an outdoor area where you can expand your grill prowess

Blackstone. Nobody (meaning women) actually likes smoked food except for other men engaging in the penis measuring contest that is the world of BGE and pellet grills.

I've had many different grills. Expensive ones, cheap ones, but I keep going back to this
