What the hell happened to Dana Carvey? He was doing the Musk impression during the campaign and now he's disappeared. Wasn't even at the SNL 50 and he's probably a top 3 cast member ever.

It's even weirder when you take into account the history of Myers stealing Carvey's impressions, most notably his Lorne Michaels (aka Dr Evil).

Been hearing this shite my whole life. Aside from the first couple of years, and the early/mid 90's, both periods where they were absolutely loaded with talent, and a few sprinkles of Eddie Murphy and Will Farrell, here and there, it seems like it's always sucked. Don't know how it's made it this long, but at this point, tv timeslots aren't what they used to be, so they're probably allowed to exist so long as they're competitive with Family Guy reruns.

Plenty of skits fell flat in the golden age too. They've been edited out of the classics collections but they were there.

Fun fact: Most of the golden age material was written in a cocaine frenzy.

It’s actually pretty good, funny if you think about it. That shite was rough.

Had to laugh at the dude playing JD.

Where is the humor? What happened was rife with possiblity for actually funny jokes but to call this lazy is an understatement.

Comedy is supposed to be funny. SNL forgot this years ago.

My how SNL has fallen. I remember as a kid it being a privilege to stay up and watch hoping to see Mr Bill.

It mostly sucked at the beginning as well, but even today there are skits that are good. I catch the funnier ones in my youtube feed. I hadn't watched in 30 years so there are better skits in that time that get pushed to the top.

Ah, but it kills among NYers fresh out of high school theater productions getting their first big boy jobs.
