NIL at LSU >>> minor league baseball
Posted on 3/1/25 at 7:41 pm to geauxtigers87
Cause the baseball coach knew NIL was important before he got to year 3.

Just be happy he did. Baw going to win a natty and be a legend.

Agreed. If I grew up around LSU's campus in the NIL era, and I was a stud baseball player, I might want to go hang out with a bunch of college girls for a few years vs slumping it in Topeka

He can live like a king, play in front of 10k people, fly charter, eat great, get paid handsomely, have an awesome college experience or go join the minors where he’ll be eventually, make peanuts, take buses to road games, eat PB&J, and play in front of 800 people. If he’s as good as everyone thinks he’ll be, he should make the same money in three years he was slated to make out of high school.

Man took one look at Paul Skenes career at LSU and said “frick the minors, I’ll take that”

Also helps that his family has money to start

Did you know he can’t burp?

SEC baseball is the minors now (or better).

The scary thing is that he'll look completely different down the stretch and in year 2. He's going to add some weight to the frame and continue developing on the mound.
That's Jay's pitch always. If you come here, even if you pass up a big signing bonus, you'll make it to that big MLB contract quicker. With Schmidt, it's all of that and that he's wanted to pitch for LSU since he was a kid. Dream come true in so many ways, and a kid that seems like he will take advantage of it. He and Curiel are roommates.

curiel needs to put in weight and show some pop.
he’s an awesome player but you just don’t get drafted and paid if you can’t show power.

Same way Breg's did. Some just grew up wanting to play for LSU.
