Trump’s comments on Tate Brothers are confusing

Did anyone see the video of the live meeting with Kier Starmer? Trump was asked about whether the US was involved with the Tate Brothers getting released from custody in Romania and headed to the US.
Trump responded that he knew nothing about it. Not aware that they were on a plane. Will check it out and let the press know.
Huh? How are we to believe he is not aware?
So he is telling us that the Admin is making calls to other countries to get accused sex traffickers and rapists released from custody, and he’s just unaware on the sideline…
