I’ve never really considered it but the family is going to Europe this Spring and my daughter is insisting we just tell everyone we’re from Canada… she thinks it’ll get us treated better for some reason? I’ve been out of the country several times but have never really thought of this.

I'm sorry you didn't raise your daughter better.
You should've let your husband be in charge .

You should've raised your daughter to be proud to be an American. Canadian, really?
Get some guts man.

The entire world has been sucking our money dick for decades, they best respect us before we break it off in their arse.

I would not do this.
I'm American. I won't pretend to be something I'm not so I can be liked by people who would make a determination of my character based on where I live.

Did you even watch the hockey game?

They will know you’re an American especially if you’re fat and can’t speak the language

Don’t feel to bad, lots of shitty parents out there.

How old is your daughter? I’m assuming she’s fairly young. WTF would she know about traveling and how foreigners treat us?

She’s a freshman and college but has really taken to politics lately online so I assume that’s where she’s hearing this.

Where in Europe would Canadians be preferred?
England maybe??
But other than that, most Europeans respect the fact we got them out of two wars. Well, maybe not Germany.

Tell her she doesn’t have to worry her pretty little head about things like politics anymore. Trump is president and women won’t be burdened with the chore of voting anymore.

Most posters here haven’t made it further than Destin.

Canadians tend to pin Canadian flags on their stuff abroad.. Obviously, so they are not mistaken as Americans.
