So tell me about how the sky is falling

I wish baseball worked that way.
The sky isn’t falling but you can’t reference the total score for a weekend series.

Yes, you can. It’s baseball. Crazy shite happens in baseball.
It’s why they play so many games.

Tennessee lost the series to us one year and outscored us by a large margin and pounded their chests about that if I recall correctly.

This isn't gymnastics, no overall score. Won the series, shite the bed in game 2. Not the end of the world, good reasons to work harder.

The sky is far from falling. People just hate seeing any signs of weakness from a team that is suppose to be good. And the batting going forward is definitely something to watch with this team. Pitching and defense continued to look really good though.
Of course baseball season changes more than any other sport. Just because bats were not hot on a 45* day in February doesn’t mean they won’t be hot in May and June when it matters.

So this is the thing. 90% of the people on here agree with your point. So why do yall keep harping on this narrative? It's kind of weird. You are the majority. 50 million posts about it not necessary.

Even though we won the series, they had no business losing that 2nd game. Was an embarrassing all around effort.

Means nothing. Are you ten years old? We don’t get alternative scoring. The L stands, and they will be fine.

Wins and losses obviously matter more than run differential, but in terms of projecting the future success of a team, run differential is typically more correlated than record.
Not that a 2 game sample against Omaha is meaningful for either.

LSU has 7 natties in baseball. Zero of those teams were undefeated.
Only 1 of those teams had less than 13 losses.

Crazy shite happens in every sport, and most sports play alot of games. They play so many games because it’s not too physically demanding. Especially compared to football….

That’s my point. How many sports are there where you can lose 13 or more games and still win a natty?

Doubling down on stupid is no way to go through life kiddo..

Good news is the issues we had are fixable

The pitching shoved.. just interesting bullpen choices in the 7th and it kinda unraveled. Omaha didn't really threaten otherwise.
They showed a lot of grit to come back and make it interesting in the 9th. says a lot about the team's character. As disappointing as the bats were in the first 8 innings.. They could have easily rolled over and packed it in.
Baseball is a momentum sport and It certainly carried over into the nightcap.

Some of that is likely the staff mixing and matching pitchers early in the season to see who responds in different situations. To be expected before conference play. You just hate to see it result in a loss to a lesser team. The bats have to be better for 8 innings so the results of such experiments don’t matter.
