Did TD gain any new hockey fans over the last week?

4 Nations had a pretty great display of the sports and gave attention who how pure and physical hockey is, alongside the pride the of players in it. Any new hockey fans after this?

Absolutely. I probably only watch one game or so per year but I plan on getting into it a little more this year because of that tournament. I love the passion displayed by the players

I need Houston to get a franchise and I’m all in

Anyone who claims they are going to watch more hockey long term because of it is full of shite.

Explain how you know this as fact. Why post a useless opinion

likely the same as it is for the Olympics for example. Everyone gets amped up on hockey for a few days or weeks then they forget about it.

It’s awesome. Not sure how anyone can be a sports fan and not love championship level hockey

This and the Olympics will help drive interest in the inevitable expansion markets, especially in the South where relatively few people have ever been exposed to it.
Hopefully the US has truly turned the corner on player development because expansion could water down the league too much.
It's going to be hard to go back to watching regular season hockey after this. The speed of the game was exponentially higher. I remember watching Quinn Hughes literally skate in circles around the Blue Jackets in a game earlier this year. He look very average in that game last night.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs is my favorite postseason of the major NA pro leagues. I'd encourage anyone to really give it a look when it comes around in a couple of months

Playoff hockey is good even for neutral observers.
Regular season though? Feel like you need to be invested in a team.

That game last night was a snoozer 90 percent of the time

I honestly think this applies to everything but the NFL. I can turn on a random game on a Sunday for a few minutes after chores are done, and I am reasonably entertained.
But I can't do that with NBA (zero interest) or MLB.
I'll pay a little more attention to baseball in the postseason, but I'm not going to watch a game until the Braves are in it, and even then, I'm casually interested.

Let's be honest...maybe this has changed, but growing up, I don't remember one friend that I had that was interested in hockey in south Louisiana.
While the patriotism is awesome, I doubt anyone is going to be tuning in to Kraken-Blue Jackets on a Tuesday night once this is out of the media cycle.
As a big tennis fan, it's like the interest when Federer played Nadal or Federer played Djokovic. Lots of interest in the moment and when it's in the media cycle, but interest faded quickly after that.

I literally will be, but I was doing that before tournament.
Here is what this will do: entice more people in cities that have a team to go to a game. Once you do that, it's very easy to get hooked.
Second, it will prime the cities that are inevitably selected for an expansion franchise especially in the South (if they get a team).
You're right, most people that watches and don't normally do, will tune out the regular season and maybe watch some of the playoffs.

Let’s be honest. There was a ton of drama tied to this game with politics in the background.
