Oh yes, please do! The USPS is a s--t show.

My latest example of their incompetence: it took 2 weeks for a small package to go from mid-Atlantic to Mississippi. May have had something to do with it being stuck in ghetto Jackson, but I don't care. Burn it down and start over.

President Donald Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, potentially throwing the 250-year-old mail provider and trillions of dollars of e-commerce transactions into turmoil.

Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as this week to fire the members of the Postal Service’s governing board and place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department and Secretary Howard Lutnick, according to six people familiar with the plans, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of reprisals.

Great strategy considering Trump installed Louis DeJoy to dismantle USPS.

Step 1: appoint a clown to run a department/agency into the ground.

Step 2: once it is completely incompetent, blame them and dissolve the agency into the administration.

Step 3: Rinse, and repeat.

That's a great theory, if it wasn't for the fact that USPS is a complete shitshow already and beat you to your theory by about 30 years.

USPS by all measurable statistics is a complete failure. Trying to blame it on Trump right now, is pretty cute.

In many people's eyes it has been completely incompetent for many years now.

In fairness, he mailed that comment to Chicken 16 years ago.

Don’t worry, there’s more on the way to prove/disprove the theory.

Betsy DeVos wasn’t appointed to fix the Department of Education.

It’s all a tear down. Stay tuned…

Yeah, the appointment of DeJoy was a brilliant move to undermine an organization that was spinning along without financial or operational issues.

USPS reports $9.5B net loss in FY 2024, does not expect to hit ‘break even’ goal next year

quote:

The Postal Service is reporting a deeper financial loss than it’s seen in recent years, and is calling on Congress and the incoming Trump administration to address rising costs that are beyond its control.

USPS reported a $9.5 billion net loss for fiscal 2024, despite year-over-year growth in revenue and a reduction in its controllable expenses. The agency saw a $6.5 billion loss in FY 2023.
