It was sad to see him go. I really enjoyed his coaching and his overall approach to the game while he was at LSU.

He overstayed his welcome. He had a great run from 2008 until about 2015 but by 2021, it was past time for him to go.

He had “that look” like John Brady and Trent Johnson at the end. Burned out, loss of passion and fight. Was time to go. Time off might have rejuvenated him.

His neck was so bad that he could not turn his head towards the end of his tenure. Great coach but hung on just a little too long.

Ehh...2017 was strong. I know we lost to a very solid UF team but anytime you make it to the finals in Omaha, that's a colossal season.

The series loss to Stony Brook was his low point in my mind.

Great guy and coach. His chronic neck issue was hard to watch. He hung on about 2-3 years to long. Hope he does well with his “cocks”! I hope we sweep his A$$. He is Tigerbait now. I live in Charleston so I will be there to cheer on the Tigers.

He was a good coach through most of his years at LSU but he definitely needed to go after the last few ones. Sorry but he kinda overstayed himself here. It's okay, it happens to many great coaches. Sometimes you need a change of scenery. I appreciate what he did here and no hard feelings towards what I'd consider a lackluster back half of his coaching career at LSU.

0/10 bait, but I'll still engage.

After 2017, he (and Cain) left the program in shambles.

Baseball was shifting to power pitching and power hitting his teams were filled with 5'10 right handed contact hitters with above average speed and right handed pitchers who threw 92.

He Used the Les Miles method of recruiting the infield outside in and exclusively recruiting short stops and trying to turn them into corner infielders and outfielders.

Got EXTREMELY lucky with COVID allowing Crews to make it to campus.

Had way too many La guys at the bottom of the roster simply because they were La guys.

The bottom of PMs last roster was Wyeth, Cranford, and Safford on the hitting side, and Kaminer, Brady, Fowler on the pitching side. Compared to Jay's rosters, where your statisical bottom last year was Frey, Kling, and Ruddel at the plate and Noot, Cam Johnson, Bucknam, and Hurd. The only player at the bottom of a PM roster that would even make a Jay constructed team is Fowler because he showed some flashes.

The only power pitchers he did get to campus that succeeded (while he was here) were Henry, Hill (before he was ruined in year 3) and you could argue Floyd, even though he was entirely mismanaged. His other guys (Peterson and Hess) had little to no command and got rocked in any extended outings.

Don't even get me started on the no LHP stuff.
