Has any profession ever lost as much respect as doctors in the last 5 yrs?

Between all the vax stuff and RFK pretty much eviscerating the FDA, WHO and CDC (rightly or wrongly) nobody trusts the medical profession any more.
5 years ago most people would have followed their doctors orders almost without question and now I feel like I need a second opinion if mine tells me to take an aspirin before bed.
Can the health industry gain back trust?
ETA: Title of thread is harsher than I meant it to be but I am leaving as is.
I didn't mean to imply all doctors, great majority of them by far are honest and caring practitioners and I think health care in US is the greatest in the world but there is certainly an amount of distrust now that didn't use to be there.

Yes if they stop letting big pharma and insurance companies make the medical decisions

Doctors are the same as car mechanics - there are good ones and bad ones - there are ones who diagnose and repair, and there are ones who just change parts in hope that it works.

Cops have been on a pretty steady decline the last decade.

Presidents of the US. Be it the one who allowed it to happen, and was still bragging about warpspeed in the last 12 months, or the potato that followed him

Agreed...entire medical profession

I'd say old, doddering members of Congress tops the list

MSM journalist. Which is unfortunate as we need some strong foundational sources of news that most folks can agree is trust worthy. Everyone in their own reality bubble has its consequences.

It’s the insurance companies that are the issue. They dictate medical decision making much more than physicians do. Physicians can’t do anything without a nod from insurance

Post Covid, its a shite show.
I would rather suffer than go to the doctor today.

So have pillhead junkies like yourself
It’s so hilarious to me to watch you of all people cast judgment on others. Especially law enforcement. Remember, you couldn’t stay out of jail because you kept snorting pills. That’s a YOU issue, not a police issue.

My buddy is a welder and he knows way more about medicine than any doctor. He listened to a bunch of podcasts and started eating only beef liver fried in tallow and he can see through walls now.

When they stop practicing medicine and start practicing healing they will gain some respect back.

DVed the Congress and MSM comments. No one with the sense of a goat held either of those in high regard to begin with.

Yes the disrespect is at an all time high. I have practiced medicine for 15 years. Had a patient yesterday his daughter told him to stop all his medicines. She said all doctors just want to make money and addict people. He took her advice and ended up in the ICU 6 wks later. His daughter never trained in any kind of healthcare.

Nah. Its the doctors.
GPs today are worthless. If I could buy antibiotics OTC, I wouldnt ever need one.
