Fat Scott for sure won’t do anything without basically storming his office like 1/6. I put the odds at him returning at 95%.

You're about 5% too low.

You’re probably right. I should kill my optimism here.

Yeah, I think that's gonna be pretty tough - I think the dye has been cast as evidenced by the recent NIL narrative and how that was presented and pushed.

The 20 of us that care about basketball here ain't gonna change that I don't think.

I think we'd be better off forcing you out as a poster instead.

I can't wait for the ticket office to call me to renew my season tickets. I will ask them if they fired the coach yet!!

Don't care. " Fat Scott " has freed me from Passion for sports.
It's become a professional sport. Don't care.

Did you literally not just miss them backing McMahon saying they would up NIL for him this portal go around? He's coming back regardless if we lose out or not. They would rather put a few million more into NIL on the backs of donors than pony up the $9M or so to fire him.

Everyone but Scott and people who pay buyouts. The only reason is the buyout is too high. Which is ridiculous cuz it never had to be that high to begin with, people weren’t tripping over themselves to hire this guy. Just get it over with. He’s a lame duck.

Get him a $5 mil NIL fund and if he still loses, then fire him. Coaches do not have huge effect on wins/losses, NIL does. Look what D. Gates is doing with a little NIL. He will have a top 10 team next week. If we had a BB NIL, Josh Gray would still be playing for us.

Damn, you didn't even put one other statement between sentences before you directly contradicted yourself.

All this money comes from donors, regardless.

McMahon is getting his money one way or the other. NIL needs to increase one way or the other.

Firing him adds another $3mil+ to pay his replacement. The question isn't do the donors want to pony up the additional NIL. They question is do they want to pony up the additional NIL AND the additional salary.

I think you are misreading his statement. He is suggesting that Dennis Gates has turned around Mizzou with the aid of an increase NIL budget. Using the phrase "with a little NIL to mean that he had virtually none before and now he has had an increase, from the vague reports I can find they had one of the more significant jumps though still not in the top 4 or 5 from what I can gather (not easy to find BB split out for me). If we can get NIL comparable to the Mississippi schools in BB (we apparently do not) it should help, the question is will it make enough of a difference

The BB NIL is in the basement. We need a NIL manager for the MCBB team. This guy will be more important than the HC

This keeps being repeated...but with absolutely zero evidence to back it up. NIL spending, but its nature, is vague and hard to fully confirm. But what lets you know this narrative is bullshite is contextualizing the argument.

You're getting LSU media saying LSU is in the bottom three of NIL spending with (checks current SEC standings) South Carolina and Oklahoma...with no data presented for any of those teams either to corroborate the claims. If you believe that South Carolina is at the bottom with LSU, the you also have to believe that South Carolina had it's best regular season last year in 25 years, had enough support to give their HC a significant raise and extension, yet their donors, in the wake of that success, decided to decrease NIL funding or, at best, keep it at the same level?

If you pull one thread of this flimsy BS narrative to justify McMahon's awful performance over the past three seasons and the wholly illogical decision to bring him back for a 4th season it all falls apart. However, I will give the AD credit. It does appear MANY purported basketball fans have swallowed the excuse hook, line, and sinker without even a hint of skepticism.
