How big of an excavator? Are we talking a mini-ex or a CAT 320?

320 is on the lower end of the medium size scale. They go up to 390.



After that, you get into the Hyd. shovels, the largest being the Cat 6120…

I am well aware. I was basically asking it if the thief needed a CDL to steal that yellow iron. Trying to steal a permanent load would be quite the task.

Why do the tracks look hilariously undersized for the machine sitting on top of it. Looks like the 390 forgot leg day.

Two things.

1. The upper body is turned sideways over the undercarriage.

2. Excavators don’t need wide tracks usually. If you think about it, excavators, unlike dozers or track loaders, don’t move all that much. They go to one point and sit there and dig. They may have to move a little, but mostly they’re stationary.
