?? In speaking to Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and other sources involved,I can confirm that there was a recent meeting in NYC with a group expressing their interest in bringing an @NHL expansion team to New Orleans. #HockeyX #NewOrleans

Can't really see this working in NOLA, but I'd be interested. I'd imagine you'd need a new arena to be built for them to bring a team here that would host them and the Pels.

I'd really like to know which group of investors would be remotely interested in that for New Orleans.

I don't see it working, we can barely support the Pelicans. But it would be fun and I'd definitely go to a few

New Arena for NHL and Pels would be necessary

I’d go to an NHL game before I’d go to an NBA game if given the opportunity. NOLA can’t support both NBA and NHL. The NHL wouldn’t work in NOLA. It might work in Houston though.

Put the arena in Gonzales, LA.

Who in their right mind actually thinks NOLA of all places could support an NHL franchise

I mean, it’s a niche enough sport to where you can have a big following in the South, see Nashville, Tampa, etc.

I just can’t see this being real. The fact that’s it’s a reputable source blows my mind.

The off-the-record portion of that comment was pertaining to league officials laughing those investors out of the conference room.

Would likely involve a new arena, or at the very least a major reno of the SKC. With that being said, it's hard to see how it would make sense.

For the record, I would sell a kidney to have NHL season tickets here, so I definitely WANT this to happen, it's just difficult to see how it would work.

It’s less games than basketball which helps

And the Florida teams and the preds have momentum so Nola could ride the southern ride with that as well

I’m personally for it. This maybe one of those ventures though where downtown Nola isn’t the best spot for it

I would instantly buy season tickets. But are there enough people like me? Doubt it

Demographics? Socio-economics? Northern/Canadian transplants? That’s a major difference between Florida and NO.

Nope

Only way it works is if we get rid of the Pelicans and I don’t want that to happen… NBA is way more culturally relevant
