Other than the military, does anyone teach this? I've heard krav maga kinda touches on it as it is a street fighting class. Plenty of defense classes out there from karate to concealed carry. Just never seen a knife fighting class.

Saw some 'fighter knives' for sale today which is what prompted the question.

Krav Maga deals with gun and knife defense... not gun and knife fighting. It's all about not dying if someone pulls a weapon on you.

Find a reputable Filipino martial arts instructor. They'll teach you more than you'll want to know,

Mexicans are always know to carry blades.

So the only true way to learn is to go down gardere to the DINDU NADA EL LOCO DISTRICT of Baton Rouge.

Walk into the apartment complex parking lot on a Saturday evening and start holding your knife in a fighting stance.

The spicy whites will oblidge you in the art of knife fighting

Escrima is what you're looking for

Eta: The absolute best option to train for a knife fight is the 100 meter dash.

No one "wins" a knife fight.

Tomiki aikido, kali, escrima with tomiki aikido being the most effective. It's basically rough judo with a focus on knife defense.

You Will Learn To Keal

The amount of people that carry these sick arse knives but probably have no idea what to do with them is hilarious. If someone comes at me with a knife, I'm running and pulling my firearm.

Yeah, they'd bring a knife to a gun fight...

And I say that as someone that has been going to escrima classes for the last few years.

A friend of mine who was an EMT in Mexico city once told me that, in a knife fight, the loser dies at the scene and the winner dies in the ambulance.

The first lesson you need to learn about knife fighting is you’re going to get cut. Don’t even waste time training to not get cut. Make your peace with it so that when it happen you can continue on with the fight.

Me, the best strategy in knife fighting is to make sure you have a firearm on your person.

You in Baton Rouge?

Me and the boys like to swing our blades in the wooded areas of BREC parks if you're interested.

This and more this. In my younger days I looked into it also, and every knife expert says if you get into a knife fight expect to go to the hospital. So frick that, I ain’t trying to win a badass contest.

Either grab something bigger to defend yourself, have a gun, or run as already said
