Do you think this franchise would make it in Destin?

Seems to me there are several Starbucks in the area, and the area is still growing. People still love to drink coffee…

Depends on the rent. You gotta sell a shite load of coffee to pay rent in Destin.

It is a Louisiana based company, and half of LA goes to Destin April-September, so yes it has a shot to make it

You might think so, but I've lived here since 78 and in my experience most folks want something different than what they get at home.

Thus, the failure of Commander's Palace and some other LA-specific offerings. There aren't a ton of local coffee spots v chains here, but there's enough that you'll have to survive the offseason and that's where the locals will prevail.

Dutch Brothers would be a much better franchise bet.

Do you think people go to other cities/states/countries they are visiting just to eat they are used to eating back home?

There are a few in the Dallas area. I don't know how well they do, but as a customer, it's nice to have a place to get hot fresh beignets.

If I remember correctly, they opened at a very bad time when the economy went to shite.

That definitely didn't help, but folks just don't come to Destin for turtle soup, et al.

They want fried shrimp/grouper and other simple items.

You ask this question as if you’ve never met an average person from Louisiana.

I almost opened one, but a current owner of several stores told me to stay away. You can never beat Starbucks and you need several stores to make solid money.

It is. I don't put those two restaurants on the same plane, though.

Yes. A lot of people from Louisiana go there and that alone should support it

No. Their coffee is not good and expensive. People think South LA stuff would definitely succeed in Destin. That just isn't the case. See Hebert's specialty meats.

They just opened one of these in Tyler and I am surprised. Is it worth checking it out?

My favorite is CC’s. Pj’s does have a really turkey sausage biscuit though.
