Nothing really good comes out of the relationship we have with them…they are just a burden to us now. It’s a shame we just can’t sit them down and force them to sign the two state solution, end the charade, and just be done with it.

We would be so much better off in foreign policy without them tying us down for their tiny piece of land squabbles

Just cut ties. Sell them defensive weapons, like items for the Iron Dome. And that's it. Another good way would be to finally declare AIPAC a foreign entity and prosecute all the people in Congress that have been agents for a foreign govt, which is what you are when you have a minder from AIPAC.

Trump, however, is never going to do any of this.

Should be about the 100th country we cut ties with, to be honest.

Good luck, that’s where JC got his mail. And Trump was raised by a Zionist.

Thoughts like this is a way to become completely “blind” to anything in the Middle East……

I accept all of the Bible as God's word.

Obviously, interpretation of the Bible can be flawed as with everything else done by man. My reading, with pastoral guidance, is that the current state of Israel is NOT the same as "God's people" from the Bible.

EDIT to add: That doesn't mean we shouldn't support Israel more than other nations, just that there is no theological reason to do so when it comes to Christians who share my view.

Bro, the future of the U.S. relies on the success or failure of Israel. No amount of support for Israel is too much. We don’t do enough for them.

Surprised you don’t know this.

Dude seriously you are anti Israel and pro forcing a 2 state solution?

Give it up, Israel is more of an ally than whatever second state terrorist whorehouse comes out the other side.

Genuine question for supporters of Israel here.

Are you fine with the level of influence they have over our politicians?

Why would we cut ties with Israel? Why not just be more muscular in our demands of Israel and reduce their influence internally?

My Evangelical friends say we don’t do enough for Israel. My Jewish relatives say US politicians are too influenced by Israel.

Who should I believe?

stop trying to be rational.

No matter which political box someone crawls into, there's always a couple of issues people in that box are supposed to blindly support.
So stop being antisemitic.

No, we should reduce their level of influence and increase ours over them.

Either way just like Taiwan they are locked into being a US ally for the next bazillion years.

It's the only country in the Middle East that is incapable of pulling an Iran and switching teams.

That's important.

Nearly every member of House and Senate have a AIPAC handler. We will never cut ties and we are “little brother”, I hate saying that but we do their bidding. Until we grow a backbone with them, we have whatever interests they have including making a Greater Israel state. Hence why we went into Iraq, overthrew Assad, etc in the Middle East.

I am not pro-Israel, I am pro-America. No country should have influence in our decisions full stop.

That is a great summation.

My late grandmother, was a practicing Zionist She moved my father's family from New York to Palestine in the 1930s because she thought it her duty as a Jew to live in Israel. Both she and my father thought Israel had too much influence on American politics.

Sometimes Israel's biggest enemy are liberal Jews. It would be better to cut your throat than to cut ties with Israel.
