I do feel like there has been a slight shift. American exceptionalism is still there, the flame is still alive. For a couple of generations, we have cared more about safety than freedom, and it's led to this bloated, fat hog that we currently are. We pump our bodies full of poison, let poor people in India and China deal with manufacturing our goods, and let others raise our children without even so much as a family dinner to discuss what happened that day. It's pathetic how many people have become freeloaders to the greatest system ever created, and I hope we can fully right the ship before we collapse on ourselves.
