Alot of the probationary employees that were fired yesterday have 15+ years of fed service

I'm all for getting doing a mass firing of new employees on probation, but alot of them had years of federal service.
15 years in one position but recently got promoted or moved to a different position or agency and they still got fired.
Not sure how I feel about that yet.

Two things:
1. Prove that. What do you mean by “a lot”? Are we talking 75%?
2. So?

No one is guaranteed a job, and that's the problem with government workers. Many of them with shitty attitudes and work ethics in for a rude awakening in the private sector

Like the government agencies fudged their headcount so they could spend more money on do-nothing employees

Having been laid off myself it sucks, no way around it. Huge amount of stress on you and your family etc. However. The federal government is bloated beyond belief. There's no doubt good people are getting caught in the crossfire but this needs to happen

Means nothing. In fact, 15 year employees in a credentialed system are likely to be very replaceable.

So they were really good at doing a shitty job?

If a few good ones got caught in the wash they can be hired back.
We just don't have time to do extensive vetting. Probably only about 17 months because the mid terms are coming.

The good people won't have a problem finding a new job. It's the deadbeats that will have problems. Good companies are always looking for good employees.

If you are a bureaucrat in DC, there is a +90% chance you are part of the problem. Look how DC votes. They vote that way for self preservation at the expense of the US taxpayers.
The minute portion of non dumpster fire humans losing their job in the swamp will land on their feet, because they aren’t dumpster fire of humans.

Seeing how the govt has operated the last 15 years I’m ok with it.

I like to think about the good hard working great men & women that lined up at the voting booth after work on election day with their maga hats and t shirts on. Just so proud and angry and eager to vote for trump. The military veteran federal workers that were within a couple years of retirement. … that President Musk and his presidential assistant Trump shitcanned his first 3 weeks in power.
How can you defend trump/musk for doing that? You can’t.
They didn’t even attempt to save anybody’s career. A lot of good hard working loyal employees were sent home. His own supporters.

If you had cancer would you say “but the tumors have been with me for years” or would you want to remove the cancer? Even if it meant you removed some potentially heathy cells?
Those that can will transition into private sector jobs and recover.

Be better.

"15 years in one position but recently got promoted or moved to a different position or agency and they still got fired."
Think about what you posted. 15 years in one position and promoted, and or moved.
One way a government agency to get rid a problem or poor performer is to promote or move to a different agency. Let someone else deal with problem, firing is a pain in the arse.
A government supervisor took advantage of the EO's to get rid of a problem or low performer.
