before the doors opened for our 81-67 home game throttling over Kentucky & Sam Bowie? I was under the bleachers hiding with some other risk takers, being stupid. Seems like there were about 10 or 15 of us, but I didn't know any of the others. Some got caught, but I survived and got front row seats...
One of the best Tiger victories under Dale Brown. Anyway...
Anyone else care to share some dumb shenanigans they carried out for an LSU sporting event?
Good Times!

I played in the LSU Basketball Band in 81!

Cool! That game was epic. My friend next to me broke a seat to the ground standing on it... Willie Sims had an amazing game off the bench, and Leonard Mitchell had some awesome slams and the place was insane!!

I was there. The place was freaking packed. I was a student so didn't need to sneak in

I mean I was a student also, but snuck in because I didn't want to camp out the night before like a lot did...

I was there, a freshman still, and I am almost certain there was a wrestling match in the Assembly Center that day prior to the basketball game. Two guys who lived on my floor in Hatcher were on the wrestling team, and I had wrestled in high school so was interested. My cousin and I went to see the matches and then just hung out there roving around to not get caught.
(We did the same thing later in December 81 for the Springsteen concert -- The River tour -- and we got to hear most of soundcheck.)
Anyway, at some point that afternoon, Sam Bowie walked right past me, and I was embarrassingly eye-level with his waistband, yikes. But man, those were great times for LSU Basketball! Loud, fun, hopeful!

We didn't camp out. But we did kind of scrunch 3 people into two seats
I was much thinner back then.

Possibly. It's amazing how security was very lax back then...

Was that the Jose Vrgas monster game?
Sorry, I did not look at the date correctly - Could not have been the game I was thinking of.

I was playing alto sax. I hope I elbowed you in the face in the basketball game in the dungeon post-game. Band nerds could play hoops.

I’ve sold my ticket for great profit and snuck into TS through a secret vulnerable gate. More than once.
At this point, I know it’s possible to enter TS with a ticket literally anywhere in the stadium yet sit literally anywhere else. If nature calls, the crappers in the west suites are a good option…you just have to know how to gain access without getting caught.
I’ve snuck into more baseball games than I can count.
I once snuck onto the field (LSU vs. Auburn) and watched the first three quarter of the game, including the halftime show, from the team bench. We beat the shite out of them that game…2011…good times!

I remember it well. I was a student at that time.
I remember standing in line on the ramps for hours to make sure I got into the game.
It was definitely SRO and then some for that one. That is an example of what the PMAC is capable of being like under the right circumstances. We wouldn’t have considered building a smaller arena back then. When I bring this up on this board. which I do often, I am accused of living in the past.
That was probably the most anticipated home game of my time as a student.

quote:For the 2008 super regional at the Box against UC-Irvine I couldn’t get tickets so I called the Irvine athletic department and told them I was an Irvine alum living in Louisiana and would love to go support my team. I spoke directly with the AD and she took down my name and info and told me she’d have 2 tickets for the series waiting for me at will call. I put on a blue t-shirt and went up to a little table in front of the Box where the Irvine AD was sitting and told her my name and she handed me 2 tickets in the Irvine section right behind home plate. She was suspicious that I wasn’t really an alum and asked me. I told her I was, took the tickets then went back to my car and put on an LSU shirt. Most amazing baseball series ever and I “snuck” in.

Once, I wore a purple LSU sweatshirt instead of Gold.
