If a Democrat suggested this, you'd all say it is weakening the military.

We need a smaller more tactical military with better weapons.

We really dont need tons of soliders anymore, we just need elite soliders.

This also helps get rid of all the dead weight military.

And come on, we have been spending more than the next 8 countries combined for decades and they have no easy route to ever get here.

Because it would. The status quo of waste would continue. People with a brain can recognize we can do more with less if you don’t overpay and there isn’t kickbacks

bullshite. You talk out of both sides of your mouth. Nothing you say has any meaning at all. Just screeching lunatics who treat politics like sports.

This was floated years ago.

Former acting Defense chief under Trump calls for military budget to be cut in half

quote:

Former acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller is making the case for the Pentagon’s budget to be cut in half in his new memoir, “Soldier Secretary,” arguing the U.S. military should be molded into a leaner and nimbler fighting force with prioritized areas of focus.

With fraud and incompetence taken out of DOD and other agencies what makes you think it can’t be stronger than currently

The party of war & waste wouldn’t say this, so it’s strawman

Correct. I can't tell you how many people just go to the military with the sole reason of either "not knowing what they want to do" or "they'll pay for college after I'm out" --- they desire only support roles (not saying support roles aren't needed) and then want to get out the first day they can.

I don’t understand why congress, even Dems, would have an issue with spending cuts. Is it just a philosophical bias? No way, the ONLY thing that makes sense is that they benefit somehow from spending more. It should be capt obvious to everyone

If a dim did this it would weaken the military because that would be their goal.

That should be doable, even without reducing the force or effectiveness. Too much bureaucracy as a start. More generals than during WWII. Outdated purchasing process. So many places to cut.

Bingo.

These are all items that can be cut that will not hurt the ability of our military.

We should also never be looking to invade and occupy any country hopefully.
